As guitarists we have a tendency to play vertically on the finger board. Because of this I came up with fingerings to play 3 octave arpeggios  horizontally, across the finger board. There are fingerings for major and minor triads. The numbers in the circles are strings and the numbers underneath the notes are your fingers. This is the notation used at Berklee College in Boston, Mass.

I don’t use TAB. I feel guitarists should be able to read music notation. TAB only “works” for guitar. Give your TAB sheet to the piano player and see how good your music sounds! You’ll see my point.

Remember, these fingerings are suggestions. Their are many ways to play the same thing on the guitar. I feel these are a great starting point.

Have fun!
